In celebration of 2019 as the Geological Society of London’s Year of Carbon, the Deep Carbon Observatory have generously provided support for bursaries to support registration and travel costs for Early Career Scientists (spanning undergraduate students to within 5 years of PhD) to attend the VMSG meeting which kicks off the Year of Carbon at the University of St Andrews, January 8-10th 2019.
We have support to provide 5 bursaries capped at US$500 per person. The award of a DCO-funded ECR travel and registration bursary is competitive and based on scientific excellence. However, these are only available to ECRs who plan to present carbon-related geoscience. Applications should be sent by email to Dr Sami Mikhail (firstname.lastname@example.org) by the 20th November 2019.
Applicants should provide the following information in a pdf file with a supporting letter accompanying the application*: Name, position, Title of presentation & abstract, and No more than 500 words explaining why you require a DCO-funded ECR travel and registration bursary.
*A signed letter of support from current line manager = PhD supervisor for current students, or current PI for postdocs.
